Books, Books, Books and Shopping!

News and Notes

Our November/December Scholastic Book order closes December 8th! Our class code is PDBYL. Those flyers all went home just before conferences.

The Book Fair is happening at the DeSales Library this week! Parents may take their child at or after dismissal any day this week.  We will not be going as a class as our library time does not give us enough time to take 19 kids shopping! The Book Fair is open every day until 3:00 p.m.  On Tuesday, December 5th the Book Fair will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. as well.

Monday December 11th our class is scheduled to visit the Christmas Shoppe. Please send money in the attached shopping envelope. Our students will have an adult helper to assist them with their shopping. (information is going home about this today )

If you have not signed up for the remind app yet, please do! It is a great way to keep up with what is going on in our classroom! (Paperwork for this is going home again today)

We are working on joining the Zipper Club! We would like EVERYONE to be able to Zip and be apart of the club!

Also, please allow your child to hang up their coats and bring their lunches/ lunch money/ library book in the room! They can do it! They know where everything goes!  Everyone has a job and this is theirs! Any important papers that need to come to us, you can bring in but, every day stuff should be their job!

We will be sending out something from sign up genius to help with supplies for our Gingerbread Houses that we will be constructing on December 15th!

So much fun they don’t know they are learning!

We love to use our imagination and build with the big blue blocks! Who wouldn't want to be King for the day?
Listening to a story relaxing on the rug with Mrs. Klee!
History lesson! Learning about the Native Americans and the Pilgrims. Learning to work together and help each other!
62* at the end of November???
Team work (and a little help from Mrs. Klee) builds a great castle!
As we catch a child's eye at a program or Mass or even just in the classroom we will wink at them just to let them know we see them and we are there if they need us! Today as we looked around at the Lockport Blue program about the SWAT team  we were met with this sweet wink! Just letting us know she was ok and having fun! ;)

Pumpkin Investigation!

Today we investigated the parts of a pumpkin... Inside and out!
We learned that the stringy stuff inside is called Pulp and there are lots of seeds! Ask your child the parts of a pumpkin We each took a guess at how many there might be... We will have to see who's guess was the closest!
Some were very excited to reach inside!
Some were not so sure!

In the end we voted on a face and we would like you to meet Jack! He is our little light at rest time!
Jack the Jack o'lantern!

Fall has arrived!

The air is cooler and the leaves are starting to change!
We are making new friends!
And are learning to be kind to others!
Sometimes you just need a break to put your feet up and gab for a bit!
Our first Science experiment! What happens when you put oil base paint (nail polish) in water? Ask your child if it sank to the bottom or if it floated!
Then, what happens when we dip the little pumpkin through it?
The end result! Tie Dye Pumpkins!
